At Spring Farm Early Learning Centre, preparing children for the transition to school is one of our highest priorities. We believe that while academic readiness is important, preserving each child’s individuality and supporting their overall development is essential for true success.
Our goal is to ensure that every child enters school not only with the skills they need to thrive academically, but also with the confidence, resilience, and social awareness to navigate the next stage of their learning journey.
We work closely with Spring Farm Public School and other local primary schools to support a seamless and positive transition. This collaboration ensures that our preschoolers are familiar with the school environment, routines, and expectations—helping them feel confident and ready for the big step ahead.
Our unique School Readiness Program goes beyond basic literacy and numeracy. It is a holistic, play-based curriculum that integrates all key areas of development, with activities designed to nurture each child’s growth across cognitive, physical, social, and emotional domains.
Key focus areas of our School Readiness Program include:
Name Writing – Encouraging children to recognise and write their own names, building a strong foundation in early literacy.
Letter & Number Recognition – Using playful and engaging strategies to help children become familiar with alphabet letters and basic numerals.
Counting & Early Numeracy – Promoting number understanding through counting games, puzzles, and everyday math experiences.
Mathematics Through Play – Exploring mathematical concepts through hands-on games, patterns, sorting, and simple problem-solving tasks.
Scientific Exploration – Encouraging curiosity through simple investigations and experiments that help children ask questions and make predictions.
Self-Awareness & Confidence – Helping children develop a positive sense of self, independence, and the ability to express their thoughts and feelings.
Gross Motor Skills – Enhancing physical coordination, strength, and spatial awareness through structured and free movement activities.
Social Skills – Fostering essential social behaviours such as sharing, taking turns, and working cooperatively with others.
Fine Motor Development – Strengthening hand and finger muscles through activities such as cutting, drawing, threading, and craft work.
Our experienced educators tailor learning experiences to each child’s interests and stage of development, ensuring they are challenged, engaged, and supported every step of the way.
At Spring Farm Early Learning Centre, we’re not just preparing children for school—we’re preparing them for life.
